APPLYING FOR A MIND COURSE
Application
Forms
Applicants are required to complete a standard MIND Programme/Course application
form. Application forms are widely distributed to human resource and training
managers and are also available at MIND’s website at www.mind.edu.jm.
Also, at your request application forms will be faxed, mailed or delivered
to your organisation.
Application
Deadlines
We encourage all applicants to submit completed application forms three
weeks before the start of each course. This enables timely administration
of our courses by Customer Service. The final deadline for all late applications
is three days before the course starts.
Submitting
Applications
Completed application forms are to be returned to Customer Service at
the MIND campus to which the applications pertain. Completed application
forms may also be returned by e-mail to:

Selections
Selected applicants will be notified 14 days but no less than 3 days before
the start date of the programme. Late applicants are asked to contact
Customer Service regarding selection.
Payments
Payment of course fees are due before the start of the course, unless
credit arrangements exist between MIND and a sponsoring organization.
Payments may be made by deposit to MIND’s bank account #4215-10
at Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited, Liguanea, Kingston Branch by means
of the MIND lodgement voucher provided to selected applicants; by credit
or debit card; by electronic transfer to our bank; or directly to the
accounting section at each campus.
Payment
Plan
MIND’s “Pay As U Learn” Easy Payment Plan, is available
to self-sponsored applicants, for specified courses. Full information
may be obtained from Customer Service.
Schedules
The Agency reserves the right to reschedule courses due to insufficient
participation. Registered participants will be notified of all rescheduled
courses.
Registration
Fee
All course fees include a non-refundable registration fee of $650.00.
Refund Policy
Course fees may be refunded in full (less registration fee) prior to the
commencement of the course. Refunds will generally not be possible after
the course commences, however, consideration will be given in extreme
situations (such as serious illness) provided appropriate evidence is
presented. All requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Director
of Finance & Resource, MIND, 235A Old Hope Road, Kingston 6.
OBTAINING FURTHER INFORMATION ON A COURSE
For more
detailed information on any MIND course, please contact the relevant training
division (Division of Leadership and Professional Developement, Division
of Finance and Organisational Administration, MIND Mandeville Centre for
Lifelong Learning), through which you will be referred to the appropriate
course coordinator. Our course coordinators are also learning facilitators
and might not always be readily available. However, they will return your
call as soon as possible.

AWARDS
On completion
of each course a certificate is awarded. The certification given is determined
by the nature of the programme completed:
1. Certificates
of Participation are awarded for seminars and courses in which examinations
and course work were not administered, but at which the participant was
present for not less than 80% of the time scheduled for the course
2. Certificates
of Achievement are issued on the successful completion of an examinable
course/programme
3. Undergraduate
Certificates are awarded by the University of the West Indies (UWI) for
programmes done in collaboration with MIND
4. Diplomas
are awarded for successful completion of an advanced examinable course/programme
5. Associate
Degrees are awarded on the successful completion of an Associate of Science
Degree programme
6. Post Graduate
Diplomas are awarded to participants who successfully complete the Post
Graduate Diploma courses.
